14 Microsoft Teams is now the primary client for messaging, meetings, and calling in Microsoft 365. As of Oct. 1, 2018, new customers with 500 seats or less are onboarded to Microsoft Teams and do not have access to Skype for Business Online. Tenants that are already using Skype for Business Online are able to continue doing so (including provisioning new users) until they complete their transition to Microsoft Teams.

16 Microsoft 365 F1 does not include rights to an Exchange mailbox. To enable a full Teams experience, M365 F1 licenses may come with the Exchange Online K1 service plan enabled. Although the Exchange Online K1 service plan will provision a mailbox for the user, M365 F1 users are not entitled to use the mailbox. We recommend that your customers disable Outlook on the web via these steps and ask users not to access the Exchange mailbox via any other methods.

Basic client limitations
The following features are available in the full client, but are not available in the basic client:

- Make calls on behalf of another contact (manager/delegate scenario)
- Handle another's calls if configured as a delegate
- Manage a high volume of calls
- Initiate a call to a Response Group
- Call park
- Group call pickup
Disable Microsoft Software Protection Platform Service
Changing or mixing plans
As the needs of your organization change, you may need to change your Microsoft 365 plan. You can switch from your current subscription to another subscription:
- In the same service family: For example, you can move from Microsoft 365 Business Basic to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, or from Office 365 E1 to Office 365 E3.
- From a standalone plan: For example, you can move from Exchange Online Plan 1 to Office 365 E1.
- To a different service family: For example, you can move from Microsoft 365 Business Basic to Office 365 E3.

How To Stop Microsoft Software Protection Platform Service
You can combine Enterprise, Business, and standalone plans (for example, Exchange Online Plan 1) within a single account. However, existing limitations on the number of seats per plan do not change. For example, you can have up to 300 seats per plan on both Microsoft 365 Business Basic and Microsoft 365 Business Standard, but an unlimited number of users on Exchange Online Plan 1.
Standalone services
The following online services are available on their own, as standalone plans. They can also be added to Business and Enterprise service family plans that don't already include them. For pricing information, or to chat with an online representative, select any of the plans listed in the following table.

If you have recently upgraded to Windows 10, you might have found some trouble installing new softwares. That is because of a service named Software Protection Service, which runs in the Windows background. The Software Protection Service checks for the authenticity of a software when you try to install one. It also checks for the activation status of the Windows version that you have installed in your computer. If the service finds that the software you are trying to install is not legitimate, it denies you the access to install the software. This can happen even if the Software Protection Service is not running.

To see if your Software Protection Service is running or not, open the Run dialog by pressing Windows+R keys together. Now type in services.msc and press enter.
Find Software protection services from the list.
If you try to start the service manually and receive the following error, then you might want to check whether your Windows version is activated or not.
If your windows is activated and you still received the error, it could be because of some permission shortcomings. Kindly follow the steps given below to solve the issue.
Method 1
- Press Windows+E keys together to get to the navigation window. Navigate to the folder
C–> Windows–> System32 and find the file sppsvc.exe.
- Now for taking ownership of this file. This can be done by typing takeown /F “full path of file” in the command prompt opened in administrator mode.
- After taking ownership of the file sppsvc.exe, retry to start Software Protection service by opening Services, just as mentioned in the beginning. If you still can’t do it, follow the steps below.
Method 2
- Press Windows+R keys together to open the Run dialog box. Type in regedit and press OK.
- Once you are done with that, you’ll have the following window on your screen.
- Navigate to the following location to change the permission settings of the sppsvc file.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE–> SOFTWARE–> Microsoft–> Windows NT–> CurrentVersion–> SoftwareProtectionPlatform.
Once you are there, right click on SoftwareProtectionPlatform and click on Permisions.
- Click on sppsvc. Allow Full Control to the sppsvc file by checking the check boxes. Click on Apply and then OK.
Now close the registry editor and reboot the machine. When the machine comes to life again, you will find that the problem no longer exists.
